If you missed last month’s Historic concert at UCBeast, or if you were there and you’d like to relive a few of its key moments, here is a brief trailer for the feature-length concert film, which should be online early next week!
OCTOBER SURPRISE: RATLIFF “BIRD ATTACK” WAS PRE-PLANNED!
Every major Presidential candidate is getting swept up in excitement of an election year tradition known as the “October Surprise” and our campaign is no exception.
You might recall that a few months ago I unveiled an “attack ad” which featured video footage of me being attacked by a bird multiple times.
What I did not reveal at the time is that I intentionally put myself in harm’s way in the hope that a bird would attack me. So, while the attack was real, it was no accident.
I was campaigning in Ashland, Oregon, and was informed that there was an area near the Shakespeare Festival where magpies were particularly aggressive. I decided to walk around that area and see if a bird would attack me. Watch the uncut footage and see for yourself.
I am the only presidential candidate releasing my OWN October Surprise rather than waiting around for someone else to do it for me.
GUESS WHICH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE USED FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ “CLEAR EYES, FULL HEARTS, CAN’T LOSE” FIRST?
Peter Berg, creator of the TV show Friday Night Lights, has sent a letter to the Mitt Romney campaign asking him to stop using the show’s signature phrase (“Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose”) in his recent stump speeches, campaign banners and e-mails.
But let History show that I was the candidate who started it all— as demonstrated by this video that I posted online BACK IN MARCH.
Obama jumped on my Friday Night Lights campaign theme faster than Landry and his father can cover up a justifiable homicide, and then Romney shows up a full season later like rich asshole Joe McCoy and thinks everything belongs to him now.
I AM THE FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS CANDIDATE. NOT THEM.
(I partly blame Will Hines for actively discouraging me from pursuing this clearly winning campaign theme, as you can see in this video.)
The New York Times lists our campaign documentary (Old Enough To Be President) in tomorrow morning’s edition!
This is a game-changer, folks.
If everybody who reads The New York Times sees this listing and decides to attend the screening on Monday night at 92YTribeca (7pm; $12), that will bode well for my chances in the election on November 6.
GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Gay & Latino Outreach RANDOM ORLANDO (PART 2)
Episode Nine of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign revisits our head of Gay & Latino outreach Random Orlando.
Our previous Orlando video focused on the inspirational effect he has on the rest of the campaign staff. This video gives you a chance to hear him talk about the campaign!
Politics are pretty heavy on everybody’s minds over the next few weeks - So make sure you’re completely up to date on the conversation by refreshing yourself with some of our favorite moments from the Jimmy McMillan and Connor Ratliff debate from last Halloween!
“Daddy gonna do what Daddy gotta do.”
I think my performance in this debate was affected by the altitude.
GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Scheduling Coordinator EMILY AXFORD
Episode Eight of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on scheduling coordinator Emily Axford.
Emily is a very busy person, which is the reason we hired her to be our scheduling & advance coordinator— busy people know about scheduling. Unfortunately, her own personal schedule has been so busy that she’s had very little time to work on the campaign.
Emily is not in the film due to a series of scheduling conflicts which meant that she was never around when cameras were rolling. It’s possible that she may be at the screening to take part in the Q&A, unless something comes up and she can’t make it.

GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Head of Security S. HOLMES
Episode Seven of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on my Head Of Security S. Holmes.
Scott keeps me safe. Sometimes he is with me, and when he’s not, you’ll never find him. He’s that good. If I look like I’m unguarded, it’s because he is hiding in your blind spot, and you’ll be dead in seconds if you make a move against me. It’s been really great having him as part of my campaign.
On September 9th, I appeared as part of “The Unconvention” at 92YTribeca, sharing a bill with the likes of TIME Magazine’s Joe Klein, Touré, and former U.S. Senator Evan Bayh.
I was given five minutes to say whatever I want, and I made my case to a room full of voters as to why I should be President.
This is a good example of what was missing from last night’s debate.
GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Head of Gay & Latino Outreach RANDOM ORLANDO
Episode Six of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on our Head of Gay & Latino Outreach Random Orlando.
Random Orlando was one of the campaign’s first volunteers, and has been an enthusiastic supporter from the very beginning. In this clip, you’ll see what a positive impact he has on the rest of the staff.
It’s a real chance to be a witness to History, so you can tell your grandchildren “You know President Ratliff? Well, a few weeks before he was elected, he had this film screening and I was there. It was a pretty swell evening.”
