The Chris Gethard Show has given me two really important things:

  1. A small degree of self-confidence.
  2. Connor Ratliff.

Pumpkin hands: one of the greatest moments in the history of television.

I can’t help but think that THIS is the moment when I lost the election.

A clip from The Chris Gethard Show - 12 Hour Election Special! Watch the events that were deemed as Connor Ratliff’s own Watergate. Add in a controversial topic of Random Orlando, and some split screen love making, and you get some unforgettable laughter that can only be described as awesome.

Will be slowly adding more here and there. Trying to get one hour worth of clips from this special up onto YouTube.

A little bit of campaign history:

00:30: DISASTER! Random Orlando spills a huge glass of water which goes EVERYWHERE!

06:22: WATCH as Chris Gethard and I have an intense make-out session via the magic of split-screen technology!

RATLIFF 35/2012: ELECTION DAY

I announced my candidacy at the beginning of August, 2011. I was 35 Years Old.

Now, it is Election Day, 2012, and I am 37.

It’s been a long journey, and a great many (older) candidates have dropped out of the race over the past 15 months. But not me. I am still in this to win it, and I think today it’s finally going to happen. By the time I get back to my apartment tonight to update this tumblr, I will be The President-Elect Of The United States Of America.

The Chris Gethard Show will be broadcasting starting at NOON today, and will be on the air for 12 hours straight. If you go to thechrisgethardshow.com you will be able to see that broadcast and also a live-stream direct from my campaign headquarters.

It promises to be an exciting day. I hope you vote, and I hope you will tune in to see what happens.

"ComptonAssCraig" posted this photo of his vote.

I don’t want to be overly optimistic, but there is an old saying in politics:

"As ComptonAssCraig goes, so goes the nation."

TUNE IN TOMORROW, starting at NOON for the most unpredictable election coverage you are going to find anywhere on earth, as The Chris Gethard Show hosts 12 hours of LIVE election coverage (including a simultaneous live-stream from RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign headquarters!)

: Tuesday 11/6 - All Day TCGS ELECTION COVERAGE!

From noon to midnight on Tuesday, November 6th, TCGS has been invited to provide all day election coverage on MNN 4. We have gleefully accepted this offer and look forward to providing you with what might not be the BEST, and definitely won’t be the most ACCURATE, but will absolutely be the…

…will absolutely be the best way to watch me become President.

Seriously, from NOON to MIDNIGHT on Tuesday, be sure to tune in to The Chris Gethard Show’s ELECTION DAY COVERAGE if you want to bear witness to HISTORY.

TCGS will be live-streaming for 12 hours straight. There will also be a simultaneous live-stream LIVE from RATLIFF 35/2012 Campaign Headquarters, and TCGS will occasionally be checking in with us to see the latest developments on our road to victory.

What other program can promise you 24 hours of Campaign Coverage in a mere 12 hours?

Here’s a few things that might happen at my campaign headquarters:

  • Poll Results and Electoral Math from Senior Pollster Will Hines and Deputy Pollster Adam Conover
  • Rapid Response and Analysis from Rapid Response Director Kevin Hines
  • Last-minute Speechwriting from Head Speechwriter Nicole Drespel
  • Press Secretary Langan Kingsley dealing with 11th hour campaign “messaging”
  • The debut of our Official Campaign “APP” from Head Of New Media Dru Johnston
  • Agnostic Prayer from Spiritual Advisor Shaun Diston
  • Journalists’ Roundtable with actual professional journalists Sal Gentile, Jon Bershad, James Ramsay and Samantha Pitchel
  • Gay & Latino reaching out from our Head of Gay & Latino Outreach Random Orlando
  • Balloons
  • A “November Surprise” that could be devastating to the Mitt Romney campaign
  • A musical performance by Casey Jost
  • And many, many more surprises

I hope you will spend Election Day with TCGS and RATLIFF 35/2012. This kind of thing can only happen once, because it’s unlikely that anyone will ever let us do this again.

OCTOBER SURPRISE: RATLIFF “BIRD ATTACK” WAS PRE-PLANNED!

Every major Presidential candidate is getting swept up in excitement of an election year tradition known as the “October Surprise” and our campaign is no exception.

You might recall that a few months ago I unveiled an “attack ad” which featured video footage of me being attacked by a bird multiple times.

What I did not reveal at the time is that I intentionally put myself in harm’s way in the hope that a bird would attack me. So, while the attack was real, it was no accident.

I was campaigning in Ashland, Oregon, and was informed that there was an area near the Shakespeare Festival where magpies were particularly aggressive. I decided to walk around that area and see if a bird would attack me. Watch the uncut footage and see for yourself.

I am the only presidential candidate releasing my OWN October Surprise rather than waiting around for someone else to do it for me.

THAT’S LEADERSHIP.

— Presidential Candidate Connor Ratliff (Age 37)

GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Gay & Latino Outreach RANDOM ORLANDO (PART 2)

Episode Nine of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign revisits our head of Gay & Latino outreach Random Orlando.

Our previous Orlando video focused on the inspirational effect he has on the rest of the campaign staff.  This video gives you a chance to hear him talk about the campaign!

On October 15, you can see Random Orlando in the film OLD ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT: Connor Ratliff’s 35-Year Journey To The White House at 92YTribeca, and there will be a Q&A after the film where I will be answering questions along with most of my campaign staff.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I do not know what Orlando is saying in this video. I don’t speak Spanish!

GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Scheduling Coordinator EMILY AXFORD

Episode Eight of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on scheduling coordinator Emily Axford.

Emily is a very busy person, which is the reason we hired her to be our scheduling & advance coordinator— busy people know about scheduling. Unfortunately, her own personal schedule has been so busy that she’s had very little time to work on the campaign.

On October 15, you can see the film OLD ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT: Connor Ratliff’s 35-Year Journey To The White House at 92YTribeca, and there will be a Q&A after the film where I will be answering questions along with most of my campaign staff.

Emily is not in the film due to a series of scheduling conflicts which meant that she was never around when cameras were rolling. It’s possible that she may be at the screening to take part in the Q&A, unless something comes up and she can’t make it.

HERE IT IS:

The official theatrical trailer for Old Enough To Be President: Connor Ratliff’s 35-Year Journey To The White House, which will have its World Premiere at 92YTribeca on October 15th at 7pm. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the candidate and members of his campaign staff.

Tickets available here.

The music in this trailer is by Sikwaya Condon (who composed the score for the film) and Phil Jackson (the song “Hour Glass”, from his EP Cold Poems.)

GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Head of Security S. HOLMES

Episode Seven of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on my Head Of Security S. Holmes.

Scott keeps me safe. Sometimes he is with me, and when he’s not, you’ll never find him. He’s that good. If I look like I’m unguarded, it’s because he is hiding in your blind spot, and you’ll be dead in seconds if you make a move against me. It’s been really great having him as part of my campaign.

On October 15, you can see Scott in the film OLD ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT: Connor Ratliff’s 35-Year Journey To The White House at 92YTribeca, and there will be a Q&A after the film where I will be answering questions along with most of my campaign staff.

There is only one more episode of this webseries, which will be released on Monday, followed on Tuesday by the full theatrical trailer for the film!

On September 9th, I appeared as part of “The Unconvention” at 92YTribeca, sharing a bill with the likes of TIME Magazine’s Joe Klein, Touré, and former U.S. Senator Evan Bayh.

I was given five minutes to say whatever I want, and I made my case to a room full of voters as to why I should be President.

This is a good example of what was missing from last night’s debate.

GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Head of Gay & Latino Outreach RANDOM ORLANDO

Episode Six of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on our Head of Gay & Latino Outreach Random Orlando.

Random Orlando was one of the campaign’s first volunteers, and has been an enthusiastic supporter from the very beginning. In this clip, you’ll see what a positive impact he has on the rest of the staff.

On October 15, you can learn more about Orlando in the film OLD ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT: Connor Ratliff’s 35-Year Journey To The White House at 92YTribeca, and there will be a Q&A after the film where I will be answering questions along with most of my campaign staff.

It’s a real chance to be a witness to History, so you can tell your grandchildren “You know President Ratliff? Well, a few weeks before he was elected, he had this film screening and I was there. It was a pretty swell evening.”

GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Rapid Response Director KEVIN HINES

Episode Five of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on Rapid Response Director Kevin Hines.

It’s Kevin’s job to respond to things that happen in the campaign, and to do it quickly. If something happens that requires a response, I leave it to him and hope that he’ll do it as rapidly as possible.

On October 15, you can see Kevin in action, responding to things that happen in the film OLD ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT: Connor Ratliff’s 35-Year Journey To The White House at 92YTribeca, and there will be a Q&A after the film where I will be answering questions along with most of my campaign staff.

If you attend only ONE election year documentary screening, make it this one. Don’t go to that other one, it looks stupid.

GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Head Speechwriter NICOLE DRESPEL

Episode Four of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on head speechwriter Nicole Drespel.

Nicole is one of the sharpest and most positive people on my campaign staff. She single-handedly wrote my 37th Birthday Speech, which I delivered to an early morning crowd of onlookers in the great state of Alaska just over a month ago. I can’t wait to read what she comes up with for my acceptance speech, which I hope is just filled with a series of zingers.

On October 15, you can see Nicole along with footage of me delivering speeches she wrote in the film OLD ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT: Connor Ratliff’s 35-Year Journey To The White House at 92YTribeca, and there will be a Q&A after the film where I will be answering questions along with most of my campaign staff.

Typically, election documentaries wait until AFTER the election is over, but this is one campaign film that actually has the guts to deliver the goods almost a month early.

Episode One: campaign pollster Will Hines! (“Meesa got the polls!” - Will Hines, who usually talks in a dialect and tone of voice not dissimilar from Jar Jar Binks.)

GET TO KNOW TEAM RATLIFF: Press Secretary LANGAN KINGSLEY

Episode Three of our continuing series of “webisodes” about the people who work behind the scenes on the RATLIFF 35/2012 campaign focuses on press secretary Langan Kingsley.

Those of you who have seen my highly successful Battery Park Press Event from earlier this year know that Langan is a real pro, able to handle everything from a hostile press corps to a very loud boat with poise and aplomb.

On October 15, you can see Langan in the film OLD ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT: Connor Ratliff’s 35-Year Journey To The White House at 92YTribeca, and there will be a Q&A after the film where I will be answering questions along with most of my campaign staff.

Think of it like this: imagine they were only going to show THE AVENGERS once, and at the end of the screening, you were able to see the actual Avengers sit on stage and answer questions about what it was like to be in the Avengers, and maybe even get to meet them. You’d buy a ticket to that, right? Well, that’s what this is.
